Project Management Office

The Project Management Office (PMO) is the central hub for managing and overseeing IT projects. Our goal is to provide transparent insight into projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by reassessing and refining processes. Through ongoing practices aimed at enhancing understanding, gathering support, and building awareness across the university, we facilitate the adoption of technology tools and services into the academic, research, and administrative spheres.

We embrace industry-leading project management methodologies as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI), adhere to Policy 7210 - Information Technology Project Management and the Management Agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia as part of the Restructured Higher Education Financial and Administrative Operations Act, and enhance organizational excellence as outlined in Virginia Tech's strategic plan, as well as in the university’s IT strategic plan.
