FAQs
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is the software solution set used by Virginia Tech to manage and integrate the core parts of our business operations (student information management, finance, and human resources). The student information system is the first ERP component we are modernizing. Finance and human resources will change in the next few years.
My Virginia Tech will provide many benefits for students and teaching faculty, the most significant of which include:

Enhanced security and disaster recovery.
Students will go to my.vt.edu when the program goes live to access their personal, academic, and financial information.
Students will have a modernized, personal experience on the site.
Most of the changes are “invisible” (e.g. stability, reliability, streamlined data).
We will have more information on what is changing for finance and human resources when that project begins in a few years.
