Center for Biostatistics and Health Data Science (CBHDS) Research Scientists, Chris Grubb and Rachel Silverman, presented during the Whole Health Consortium Symposium at Virginia Tech, showcasing projects related to rural health in Virginia.

2024 CUBE Program Alum Chloe Burt presented at the Symposium on Data Science and Statistics (SDSS) 2025 conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 29 – May 2. The title of the abstract was "How Connections Are Made: Investigating the Role of Trust on the Relationship Between Socialization and Mental Health and Behavioral Outcomes."

In a featured Community for Rigor (C4R) guest writer article, Dr. Hanlon shares her reflections on the Translational Science panel discussion, the importance of rigor training, the C4R initiative for translational scientists, and how working with C4R has shaped her approach to rigor instruction.

“Ensuring Equal Opportunity: Innovative Education and Training Practices in Health Data Science,” a multi-institutional panel, focused on advancing data and equal workforce opportunity through innovative educational programs and outreach initiatives. Translational Science 2025 was held in Washington D.C., April 15-17, 2025.

“Addressing Rigor and Reproducibility in Translational Science through the Community for Rigor (C4R) Initiative,” presented by CBHDS Director Alexandra Hanlon, highlighted the importance of rigor and reproducibility as critical components of credible scientific research, particularly in translational science, where errors or inconsistencies can have a direct impact on patient care and outcomes.

April 11, 2025, Dr. Benjamin Brewer, research scientist at the Center for Biostatistics and Health Data Science (CBHDS) presented during the iTHRIV research methods core Spring 2025 Seminar series. "Getting Grouping Right: Choosing Cutpoints in Biomarker Studies," was hosted on Zoom from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

Virginia Tech CBHDS Biostatisticians presented at two sessions during the Eastern North American Region International Biometric Society Spring Meeting March 23-26 in New Orleans, LA.
